Ventura Master
Gardeners Hold Open House at Olivas Adobe
The Ventura Master
Gardeners held an open house at the Olivas
Adobe on Saturday, March 25, from 10:00 am until noon. The Olivas Adobe
Historical Interpreters (OAHI), the volunteer docent association at
Olivas
Park, hosted the event.
Frieda
Massaro, coordinator of the event, opened
the program, followed by words of welcome by Jerry Leckie, President of
OAHI,
and Laura Bach, Chairperson of the Olivas Herb Garden Committee. The
Master
Gardeners were then treated to an herb and historical plant tour of the
park
grounds by Laura Bach, followed by an interpretive tour of the Adobe by
Doña
Aiken and Sue Pench, OAHI docents.
OAHI
and the Master Gardeners have partnered for several
mutually beneficial programs, and are planning more cooperative
projects in the
future.
